At their core, HireAra believes that recruitment should be smarter, faster, and more human – and their technology makes that happen. Now, they are building out their engineering team, and this Software Engineer role is just the beginning of an exciting expansion.

This role is all about building, shaping, and scaling HireAra’s AI-powered platform. You’ll be part of a growing engineering team (currently a team of two, but not for long!) and will play a key role in developing new features, enhancing backend services, and driving performance improvements.

In this role you will:

  • Develop scalable full-stack applications using Python, React, and Node.js.
  • Develop backend services and APIs using Python to support the AI-driven recruitment platform.
  • Collaborate on full-stack development projects using modern technologies (JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Python).
  • Solve technical challenges, improve system performance, and introduce new features.
  • Build scalable features, ensuring performance, security, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to create seamless user experiences.
  • Influence tech decisions and play a key role in shaping the engineering culture at HireAra.
  • Actively participate in architectural decisions and tech discussions.
  • Contribute to code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of the development process.

We are looking for:

  • Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), React, and Node.js.
  • Someone who ‘gets’ start-up life, or wants to be part of that world. HireAra might be powered by Access Group, but they very much live and breathe the new product features and development of a start-up still.
  • A passion and demonstrable skillset in backend development using Python, with a focus on building APIs and scalable services.
  • Someone used to working in agile teams and shipping high-quality production code.
  • Experience in software engineering within agile environments.
  • Enthusiasm for creating exceptional user experiences and intuitive interfaces.
  • Passion for scaling technology and solving complex challenges.
  • A desire to work in a fast-growing, high-impact environment where your contributions matter.

Remuneration And working practices

Full-Stack Developer

Reporting directly to Chief Technology Officer

Salary up-to £80,000 per year

Hybrid working – ONE DAY per week in London Liverpool Street office

Private Medical Insurance

30 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays – take whenever you want though)
